Martinmas Eve

Martinmas Eve

Restaurant Kronborg

Restaurant Kronborg celebrates Martinmas Eve with old-fashioned roast duck and apple dessert, as your granny would have made it (had she been Danish…).

Martinmas Eve is the evening before St Martin’s Day. Danes traditionally eat roast duck or goose on this evening. According to the legend Saint Martin was revealed by some geese when he modestly hid to avoid becoming a bishop. He therefore decided that every year on this night, 10 November, the geese must be eaten.

At Restaurant Kronborg we celebrate Martinmas Eve with old school roast duck on Saturday 10th of November 2023 from 17 – 22.

Enjoy your roast duck with a glass of flavourful King’s County Brown from local artisan brewery, Nørrebro Bryghus, or a glass of elegant, classic Crozes-Hermitage 2017 on 100 % Syrah grapes from Northern Rhône.

Please book in advance at Restaurant Kronborg.

Please note that we have 2 seatings this evening:

  • 1st seating is with arrival at 17:30. You have the table until 19.30.
  • 2nd seating is with arrival at 20.00 You have the table until 22.00
    The kitchen closes at 21.30.

One of Copenhagen’s best classic smørrebrød restaurants, fine selection of homemade schnapps and, not least, fantastic service from the staff – attentive, humorous and full of personality.

Super good breakfast place. The food was absolutely perfect and top quality. I dropped my fish fillet on the floor, but the good waiter immediately brought a new one. It was service at a high level! See you again soon!

Super lunch cafe with classic smørrebrød and with a positive twist of something new. So delicious, sweet service and always nicely covered. Toilets are nice. The restaurant is highly recommended.
