Christmas party

The months of November and December are some of the most festive times of the year at Restaurant Kronborg.

We serve a home-made, traditional Danish Christmas Lunch (“julefrokost”) – “family style” at the table.
We serve Christmas Lunch on from 8. November to 23. December and again from 27. december to 30. December.

As always we expand our opening hours to Monday to Saturday 11-24 and Sunday 11-18 from 10. November to 30. December.

However, with the exception of Mortensaften on Sunday, November 10, which, according to tradition, offers classic roast duck here at Restaurant Kronborg.

Throughout the years

Throughout the years our Christmas Lunch menu has been enjoyed (and recommended) by Author & Reviewer Martin Kongstad in “Bearnaise is the King of the Animals” (originally on Radio 24/syv, now on Podimo) the savvy foodies from Copenhagen Food, Copenhagen Expert Laura from TheCopenhagenTales, the passionate foodie, Mette Juulsgaard, the selfproclaimed bon vivant, Martin Villumsen, and the Copenhagen conaisseur, Camilla Stemann Jensen.

In 2025 we spoil our guests with:

Herring & Fish
– Curried herring with eggs, onions and capers

– Christmas herring with onions and capers

– Kronborg’s pan-fried herrings in its own pickle

– Pan-fried plaice fillet with remoulade

– Kronborg’s rimmed salmon with apple-celeriac-crème

– Smoked salmon with scrambled eggs

Meat
– Braised duck with pickled red cabbage

– Pan-fried pork with apples

– Liver paté with bacon, mushrooms and pickled cucumber

– Pork roast with pickled red cabbage and cucumber

– Christmas sausage with mustard and pickled beetroots

Two kinds of cheese
– with preserved fruits

Traditional rice pudding
– with almonds and cherry sauce

We offer a wide selection in well-brewed beers and aromatic aquavits to accompany the Christmas Lunch.

We serve Christmas Lunch on from Friday 31 October to Monday 23 December and Friday 27 to Tuesday 30 December 2023.

As always we expand our opening hours to Monday to Saturday 11-24 and Sunday 11-18 from 10 November to 30 December.

Price: DKK 499.00 per person

Thursday & Sunday
Price: DKK 549.00 per person

Friday & Saturday
Price: DKK 599.00 per person

Please note that our servings are tailored to an average appetite. If you desire an extra helping of one or more dishes please let your waiter know and s/he will bring it from the kitchen. This way all your food is freshly prepared when served and we minimise food waste.

To ensure the best possible experience for our guests, we kindly ask that any changes to the number of guests for larger parties are communicated no later than 7 days before the event. This allows us to plan staffing and prepare the right amount of food, ensuring your group receives the quality and service we are known for.

If changes are communicated after this deadline, we reserve the right to charge for the originally agreed-upon number of guests, as preparations will already have been initiated.

From November 1st to November 9th

On the above days we serve as follows:

– From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, we serve open-faced sandwiches from the menu.
– From 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, we serve both open-faced sandwiches from the menu and the Christmas lunch menu.
– From 6:30 PM (Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays) until the kitchen closes, we serve both open-faced sandwiches from the menu and the Christmas lunch menu (from 7:00 PM until the kitchen closes on Saturdays).

Please note that due to the holiday rush, we can unfortunately only provide one single bill for the entire party.

If guests are more than 10 minutes late for a table – and we have not been notified – we reserve the right to offer the table to another party.

We advise against bringing young children to Christmas lunches, as the atmosphere can become very loud and festive, which – based on our experience – often causes young children to react negatively.

We reserve the right to make changes in the above without notice.

The food was cooked to perfection. Best Parisian steak I’ve tasted by far. Plaice fillets fried to melting perfection. The service level is also top class with the finesse of experience and understanding of which table you’re facing. My first visit to Kronborg. Wonderful restaurant
Wonderful restaurant with the most delicious food and fantastic service. Have been there several times and never left disappointed, but instead left Kronborg with a smile on my face and a belly full of the good food. Absolutely the best open sandwiches in town.
