Christmas Lunch

The Christmas season is one of the most festive times of the year at Restaurant Kronborg.

We serve a homemade, traditional Danish Christmas lunch – served at the table.
Our Christmas lunch can be booked from Friday 23 October to Monday 23 December, and again from 27 to 30 December.

Please note that St. Martin’s Eve, Sunday 10 November, is an exception, as we traditionally serve roast duck on this evening.

In 2026 we serve:

Herring & fish
– Curried herring with eggs, onion and capers
– Christmas herring with onion and capers
– Kronborg’s fried herring with soft-fried onions
– Pan-fried plaice fillet with remoulade
– Cured salmon with apple and celeriac cream
– Smoked salmon with warm scrambled eggs

Meat
– Confit duck with red cabbage
– Apple and pork belly
– Liver pâté with bacon, mushrooms and pickles
– Roast pork with red cabbage and pickles
– Christmas sausage with homemade mustard and beetroots

Two kinds of cheese – served with pickled fruit
Risalamande – served with cherry sauce

Prices
Sunday–Thursday: DKK 575 per person
Friday & Saturday: DKK 675 per person

We reserve the right to make changes.

From November 1st to November 9th

On the above days we serve as follows:

– From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, we serve open-faced sandwiches from the menu.
– From 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, we serve both open-faced sandwiches from the menu and the Christmas lunch menu.
– From 6:30 PM (Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays) until the kitchen closes, we serve both open-faced sandwiches from the menu and the Christmas lunch menu (from 7:00 PM until the kitchen closes on Saturdays).

Please note that due to the holiday rush, we can unfortunately only provide one single bill for the entire party.

If guests are more than 10 minutes late for a table – and we have not been notified – we reserve the right to offer the table to another party.

We advise against bringing young children to Christmas lunches, as the atmosphere can become very loud and festive, which – based on our experience – often causes young children to react negatively.

We reserve the right to make changes in the above without notice.

From November 10th to December 23rd

On the above days we serve as follows:

– From 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, we serve open-faced sandwiches from the menu.
– From 2:30 PM to 6:00 PM, we serve the Christmas lunch menu.
– From 6:30 PM (Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays) until the kitchen closes, we serve the Christmas lunch menu (from 7:00 PM until the kitchen closes on Saturdays).

The food was cooked to perfection. Best Parisian steak I’ve tasted by far. Plaice fillets fried to melting perfection. The service level is also top class with the finesse of experience and understanding of which table you’re facing. My first visit to Kronborg. The food is fully on par with – and sometimes better than – Palægade or similar. I’m a new regular customer.

Wonderful restaurant
Wonderful restaurant with the most delicious food and fantastic service. Have been there several times and never left disappointed, but instead left Kronborg with a smile on my face and a belly full of the good food. Absolutely the best open sandwiches in town.
