Restaurant Kronborg is all about homemade food and cosiness.

We aim to serve tasty food focusing on the traditional Danish open sandwiches (‘smørrebrød’), great drinks and coffee brewed with passion. All in a cosy space where our guests feel welcome and have a great time.

The winner of the Herring of the Year at the Hirtshals Fish Festival 2026

We are proud that Restaurant Kronborg won the title of Herring of the Year 2026 at the Hirtshals Fish Festival.
Our winning dish combines the classic Danish herring table with fresh nuances of apple, horseradish and rye bread crumble – a tribute to good craftsmanship and Danish ingredients.

Silden serveres med en syrlig æblekompot og sprød rugbrødscrumble, som giver både sødme, friskhed og tekstur. Resultatet er en moderne fortolkning af en tradition, der stadig smager af Danmark.

The food was cooked to perfection. Best Parisian steak I’ve tasted by far. Plaice fillets fried to melting perfection. The service level is also top class with the finesse of experience and understanding of which table you’re facing. My first visit to Kronborg. The food is fully on par with – and sometimes better than – Palægade or similar. I’m a new regular customer.

Wonderful restaurant
Wonderful restaurant with the most delicious food and fantastic service. Have been there several times and never left disappointed, but instead left Kronborg with a smile on my face and a belly full of the good food. Absolutely the best open sandwiches in town.

We have composed a number of smørrebrød menus based on the regulars’ favorites and the season’s best ingredients.

The menus are served “family style” and are particularly good for parties that want a few pleasant hours with the opportunity to taste the best that the classic Danish smørrebrød kitchen can produce.
